Cold Processed Argan Oil and Shea Butter Shampoo

To gently cleanse and deeply nourish dry hair, we have formulated a solid shampoo that is specially tailored for this purpose.

On an olive oil base to maintain hair shine, we have enriched our shampoo with shea butter (nourishes and protects), castor oil (stimulates growth), cocoa butter (hydrates), babassu oil (combats dehydration), argan oil (enhances shine and luster), marshmallow root powder (softens), and red clay (gently cleanses).

It is an essential in zero-waste cosmetics. Pollution resulting from the use of conventional liquid shampoos has a significant impact on the environment.

One solid shampoo bar replaces approximately three bottles of liquid shampoo, resulting in a substantial reduction in plastic consumption.

Shower gels are also contributors to this extensive pollution. Therefore, we recommend choosing solid soaps (preferably cold processed) for gentle body cleansing.

Usage Tips for Ayda Solid Shampoo for Dry Hair

How to Wash Your Hair with Solid Shampoo?

To begin, wet your hair to moisten it. Since the solid shampoo does not contain water, this will make the application easier.

Next, rub the shampoo between your hands to create lather. Then, rub the shampoo onto your scalp. Massage your scalp to produce a rich lather, and spread the lather along your hair lengths. Finally, rinse your hair with clear water.

Furthermore, we recommend regularly brushing your hair to distribute the scalp’s sebum towards the tips. Sebum is a natural lipid that nourishes and protects the hair. By removing excess sebum from your scalp and spreading it to the rest of your hair, especially if it tends to be dry, you’ll help maintain its balance.

Hair Adjustment Period

Switching from liquid shampoo to solid shampoo may take some time. We estimate this adjustment period to be around 1 month.

During this transitional phase, your hair adapts to the change in product and the absence of harsh surfactants and silicones (which coat the hair but prevent proper nourishment and hydration). After a month of use, your scalp will regulate its sebum production to achieve a better balance.

To help regulate sebum production, we recommend washing your hair once a week.

Silicones and Surfactants in Shampoos

Surfactants are commonly used in both solid and liquid shampoos. They play a vital role in enabling shampoos to cleanse your hair by producing lather. Although there are natural surfactants, the majority used in shampoos, especially conventional shampoos, can be irritating and harsh on the scalp.

What is the purpose of a surfactant? Surfactants are used in liquid shampoos to mix the aqueous phase (water) with the oily phase (oils and vegetable butters). They act as emulsifying agents, allowing the combination of water with oily substances.

Conventional liquid shampoos often contain silicones that create a film on the hair, providing a superficial shine. Unfortunately, they coat the hair so much that it can suffocate and create a sort of shield, limiting the penetration of the active ingredients necessary to nourish the hair and maintain its moisture.
